I often feel guilty about not commenting on other people's blogs. The truth is I usually read them on my breaks at work and for some reason this computer just won't let me comment. Then I don't schedule any at home time into rereading and commenting. I am reading.
Sometimes I don't comment on blogs I read, usually because I have nothing to add or anything clever to say. I have noticed that the more I comment (even if it's a short one), the more readers I get at my own blog, not that that is the point of my commenting.... I try to comment on at least one new (to me) garden blog everytime I log on the computer.
Best of luck trying to find that reading/commenting balance;)
Totally agree with Christine. While I read many blogs, if I can't add anything to what's been said already ... I just don't bother.
I do try, however, to make comments on blogs where the blogger is new to blogging or has very few followers ... just feels like the polite thing to do in that circumstance.
